Biography

She was born on 12 January 1951 in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas, USA and her parents were Lillian Maxine "Mickey" (Heaton) (1923–1981) and Robert Dale Alley (1923–2007).

In 1969 she graduated from Wichita Southeast High School [1] and dropped out of Kansas State University.

Kirstie Louise Alley first married on 12 June 1971 in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas [2] to her high-school sweetheart, Robert "Bob" Dunn Alley, who coincidentally had the same name as her father. They divorced in June 1975​ in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California, USA. [3]

After moving to Los Angeles, California, USA she worked as an interior designer and appeared as a game show contestant.

She was raised as a Methodist, but became a member of the Church of Scientology in 1979.

In 1981 an automobile accident involving a drunk driver killed her mother and left her father seriously injured.

She started her acting career in 1982.

Kirstie married secondly on 22 December 1983 in Westport, Connecticut, USA to actor, Parker Stevenson. [4] Following a miscarriage, the couple adopted 2 children. The couple divorced in 1997 and she became a grandmother in 2016. [5]

From 1987 to 1993 she had a role in the NBC sitcom "Cheers" for which she received an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe in 1991.

In 1989 she starred in the film "Look Who's talking" and its two sequels in 1990 and 1993,

In 2004 she became a spokesperson for the "Jenny Craig" weight loss program.

In 2005 she played a fictionalized version of herself on Showtime's "Fat Actress".

She died of a recently discovered cancer on 05 December 2022. [6] [7]
