Shared Photo: Harold A Oldroyd III – baptism

When my father Harold A. Oldroyd Jr. married into the Sico family, he brought his English lineage into an Irish Italian (Acton/Sico family. If you are raised in the Catholic tradition in the 50s there would be high expectation of having a priest as a family member. Father Alfred T. Sico is hard at work baptizing my brother Harold A. Oldroyd III. You may note a stern look on his face. As I recall he was about to chastise my father for taking pictures during the baptism of his son. My uncle was not very tolerant of flashbulbs going off in church.

I wanted to share this family photo of 52 Weeks of Photos 2022 Profession with the community. Location: Long Branch, Monmouth, New Jersey, United States. Date: 1959.
